Falcon Cam/Blog
They are back! This year the Peregrine Falcons atop the Key bank building in downtown Indianapolis have had three eggs hatch thus far out of four in the nest box. This link is to the falcon blog which will take you through the naming, banding, and fledging. The Peregrines are quite an attraction each year as Kinney and KathyQ return to the nest box early each spring. Usually the Indy Star handles the cameras- one for the ledge and one for the nest box. This year the ledge camera has shown part of the box, ledge and downtown Indy up until hatching time, then they moved the focus to straight down into the box. The regular nest box camera shoots across the nest (which is made up of pea gravel).
Follow the blog as the fourth egg hatches and the chicks of white fluff grow very quickly to near adult size before leaving their nest to try flying.
There is a gallery of pictures if you look in when Mama is sitting on her chicks or there is inactivity- Thanks Indy Star!
